Hugh Lake, aka “HFNR” is a Producer and DJ; who can cross genres and styles with ease (namely hip hop, trap, alt. R&B, R&B, afrobeats and caribbean). Having already made a name for himself in industry (as featured multiple times in the likes of Complex, AUD’$, Noisey, Aahh, Rolling Stone, Life Without Andy, Acclaim, Off The Clef, Syn Hip Hop, Acid Stag, MTV, Triple J; 102.7FM; several curated Spotify and Apple Music playlists (New Music Friday, Apple Best Of The Week, A1 Hip Hop, Viral 50 Australia, Mellow Styles, Urban Flavour, Breaking Hip Hop, and The New Australia). His work has been featured extensively on national Australian TV and radio (MTV Australia, ABC, Triple J, KISS FM, Triple R). HFNR has collaborated with, and done regular production work for well recognised Australian acts 360, Allday, Kwasi, Vic August, Dyspora, Lakyn, and more. He has also worked with international talent including Brian Fresco (USA), Kyle Gee (USA), Ari Gumora (USA), Jaeo Draftpick (USA) to name a few. His close collaboration with Kwasi over the past 4 years saw their joint project “Kwasi x HFNR” signed to urban label WVS/Onelove in early 2017 and pushed them to the forefront of the new wave of hip-hop and R&B talent emerging from Australia. The project received great digital store success and two of their tracks “Downtown” and “Lies” were respectively named the no.34 and no.15 best hip hop songs in Australia by respected online publication Off The Clef Hip Hop. This success caught the eye of Los Angeles based management company OUT.LI.ER and who he signed a management deal to in mid 2018.
